Club Annual Awards Evening and Beetle DriveFriday 16th December 2011 at Hatherley & Reddings Cricket
Club Reserve the date and register for tickets asap as places will be limitted, it is sure to be a great
evening. Members and family welcome, all food and soft drinks are free! (the bar will be open but not free) and
lots of awards and entertainment! Starts 7pm and finished by 9:30pm. Our Guest of Honour is Mr. Graham Williams.
Ten Pin Bowling Evening Report

teams of 6 had a great evening, Dan took the individual title with Andy and Lee just behind. Top lady was Christine by
some distance, she had the most strikes (7) and finished second to Dan in hitting down the most pins on the evening! The highest
scoring team on the evening was that of, Christine, Dan, Jenny, Andy, Charlotte and Roger! Top 3 ladies scores were recorded
by Christine, Vanessa and Julie. Highest single individual score was that of Alex.

Bring & Buy Sale—22nd November
Following the success of the event last year, we will be repeating the sale, this time at Birdlip Village Hall. There will be coaches available to help members looking for bows, arrows etc. There were many bargains last
year. It would be helpful if members could give me an idea of what they may be bringing along, so I can use
this info closer to the date, to promote it.

Club Attrition Day –
Sunday 21st August
Another great Attrition Day, good weather, good food and good competition. The day comprised of 4 competitions,
3D Field, Clout, Skills (using club bows) and a set target round. 4 ‘Championship’ classes, Recurve, BB, LB and
Compound. Top 3 in each category were; Recurve – 1st Vanessa, 2nd= Kate & Lisa Compound – 1st Beckie,
2nd Dan, 3rd Lucy Longbow – 1st = Martin H & Ian, 3rd Martin M. Barebow – 1st Joe,
2nd Katherine, 3rd Kevin
A big thank you to all those that helped with BBQ and Cream Tea, Range Layout
etc.
Club Target Days
Each
month we are running Target days/evenings when we organise National/Warwick Rounds etc as well as nominated Progress
Award Sessions. Often BBQ etc organised to coincide with these shoots. As from June 1st we are also organising evening field
course competitions using the 3D's.
Social Green Dragon support – after the Tuesday 17th May
session we would ask members to consider calling in to the Green Dragon for a quick drink. We will stop shooting at 8:30 to
encourage this. They let us use their car park so we would like to demonstrate some gratitude!
Easter egg hunt/shoot & BBQ –
Friday 22nd April @ Bubbs Hill. Our annual Easter event will again take place on the Good Friday. Fun Shoot starts from 2:30pm, Cream teas, Egg hunt
etc, whole family welcome.
Club Quiz and AGM - Tuesady 19th April
This will take place at Shurdington Village Hall. 6:30 for 7pm start. Quiz suitable for all age groups, teams of 4
picked on the night. Refreshments.
The Swimarthon Sponsorship forms are out,
please support our swimmers!
Swimarthon (Cleeve Hill Round table). We have entered 2 teams in this fundraising event. It will take place on the
26th March, teams of 10 will form a relay and swim for 45 mins (the team, not the individual). We have entered
a junior (14 and Under) and senior team. 20% of proceeds will go to charity, the remainder to buy some important
club equipment. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS WHO CAN SWIM. NAMES TO STEPH PLEASE. sjcrang@aol.com Last time we did it we had great fun, please
consider it.

We
have been invited to take advantage of the 'quid a kid' offer at a Bristol City Match in February. Details will be
circulated in the club Newsletter.
Annual Easter Egg Hunt and Bubbs Hill Competition

is late this year, full details to be circulated asap.
Bring and Buy Now Tuesday
14th December at Shurdington! From 6:30pm. Lots of equipment for sale including bows! Would
members please search out all those items they no longer use etc. These
may include such items as armguards, tabs, bow stands, arrows, limbs, risers, tents, old club clothes, bows, quivers, scopes,
sights, pressure buttons, bow bags, fletching jigs, arrow rests, launchers, old bosses, target faces etc.Please look out items that could be of use to someone else and either bring them
along or ask someone else to. Free mince pies, drinks etc. Fun competition in main hall (so
bring your bows), prizes and some surprises!

Halloween Shoot
Saturday evening saw an excellent turn out of nearly 40 members at our Club Halloween Shoot. Thanks to everyone
that helped organize an excellent evening, the food was excellent and the targets great. Despite it starting to rain, almost
at the moment we started to shoot a few showers were not enough to stop an excellent time.

Club Firework Night - Thursday 4th November
Postponed Due to High Winds.
At Deer Park from 6:30, BBQ. Bonfire, Fireworks. A whole
family event!

Get your entries in for the County Junior Championships!
Adults as well.
This competition is organized by ourselves and will take place at Cheltenham
Archers Ground (Race Course) on Saturday 11th September. ALL our juniors should enter. Get forms from the Gloucestershire Archery Society
Website or at any of our practice sessions. Talk to a coach for advice on which round etc. They are short distances and only
72 arrows so please give it a go. Parents/Adults can do a Record Status National round in
the afternoon so please support this event.

Jungle Rumble Adventure Golf at Cabots

on Friday 25th June. 7pm at the Venue.The cost if
there was over 8 of us would be £6, if we could get over 20 the cost would be £5 per head per 18 hole round. Lots of places to eat as well, so maybe book a table at Frankie and Bennies for

Social Events - Club Survey
A number
of social events have been suggested including; Greyhound Racing, Go-Karts, Laserquest, Social meal, 10 Pin Bowling, Speedway
and Skittles. A survey will be issued in the New Year.
Club Christmas Firework Night and BBQ
The
firework night was due to take place on Monday 21st December. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE EVENT IS
POSTPONED UNTIL THE NEW YEAR.
Guiness World Record Tree Planting Attempt at Deer Park
On December 5th between 11 and 12noon the club will be suppoorting the Guide
Centre to plant 2000 trees in just one hour in an event sponsored by the BBC. Adam Henson and the Countryfile team will be
filming at Deer Park and we hope that as many members will turn out to help. This is part of an event to plant a million trees
in just 1 hour!
Swindon Greyhound Racing
We will be organising an evening at the dogs in the new year, entry will be free etc. Watch this space for details.
