Level 1 Course

It is confirmed that we will be hosting a Level 1 Coaching course which will see Andy as Lead Tutor and Di as Course Manager. The likely dates will be 4 Sundays during October 2008 – January 2009 with the venue at Balcarras School. We will still be able to shoot during the classroom time when the Level 1’s will not be using the hall, more details closer to the time.

Level 2 Course

The Region is running a Level 2 Course starting in July at Puriton, all existing Level 1's have been invited to apply, there will be 10 classroom day sessions plus much more assessed coaching practice.

County Junior Squad Training The Gloucestershire Coaching Group have agreed to hold a series of coaching sessions for junior archers in the county. The first one will be held on Sunday 27 January 2008 at Balcarras School Sports Centre in Cheltenham. It will run from 10:00am to 4:00pm. The sessions are designed for those looking to be part of the County Junior Team. If you think that you have juniors in your club that are aspiring to reach county standards, then please put them forward. Club secretaries and coaches, where there are some in the club, should between them decide who might benefit from additional coaching. 32 archers, who should be accompanied by responsible adults, is the maximum we can accommodate. There will be a nominal charge of £5.00 per junior as a contribution to expenses. This will be collected on the day prior to the start of the session. Can you please let me know before 31 December who you are sending. We have asked for an indication of what you and your archers would like to include in the session, so that we can draw up a programme that would be of most use. We would also like to invite coaches in the county to come and assist Andy Cramb, who will be known to many of you as an experienced performance coach: again can you let me know whether you can assist with the coaching. Once we have seen the response to the first session, we will be able to decide on the format and dates of subsequent sessions. Mrs R Robinson Gloucester CCO
