Inter Club Match with our friends from Cheltenham Archers - Sunday 7th March 2010

Each club would be represented by 16 archers made up of 4 groups of 4. Gents, Ladies, Jnr Gents and Jnr Ladies.

The competition will be shot on a Portsmouth face and use that scoring system (inner 10 for compounds on a 3 spot face etc).

Teams can comprise of recurves , compounds or longbows. However if more than 2 compounds are in a group, then all the archers in that group will have to use a 3 spot face.

The first round of the competition will be a 2 dozen match between each similar group of 4, eg Deer Park Gents v Cheltenham Gents, Deer Park Jnr Gents v Cheltenham Jnr Gents etc. There will be 2 points for a win, 1 for a draw. Competing teams will shoot on adjacent bosses and running scores will be displayed.

The second round will be a 2 dozen pairs matches (club selects pairs) from within similar groups. Eg. Chelt Gents Pair 1 v Deer Park Pair 1, Chelt Gents Pair 2 v Deer Park Pair 2, etc. Again 2 points for a win, 1 for a lose. Competing pairs will be on the same boss etc.

The third round will be individual 1 dozen H2H matches from within similar groups. Again 2 points for a win etc.

The winning club will be the one with the most points.

Due to number of members wanting to take part, only club members will be able to shoot (sorry no visitors on this occasion). The round will be a Portsmouth and members should be there by 9:45 for a 10am start. Those that loan equipment should let Roger know in advance.

Club Organised Competitions

It has been decided that with the increase in membership, meetings increasing in numbers and new venues that we will not organise any record status events this winter. We will be organising a number of 1/2 and whole day events for our own members, many of who are new to the sport, to give them experience of formally run competitions.
