Summer Term
Deer Park Archers are
running programmes in 10 schools this term, many funded by Sport Unlimited, others by schools. The format is typically 1 to
1 1/4 hours directly after school. There are always school staff/representitives present.
Some schools have 2 parts
to the after-school club, those following a beginners course as part of Sport Unlimited and those who have already completed
a program and have elected to continue. One example is Kingshill School who are all (25) members of Archery
GB and Deer Park Archers, another is Bouneside School who have a mixture of Sport Unlimited and those who have already
completed.
The week beginning the 14th June will see 10 teams competing against each other for the Gloucestershire
Inter-Schools Trophies and individual titles. See Schools pages for results and photos from the 21st June.
Gloucestershire Invited to play a leading
role in schools archery!
With all the work currently going on in Gloucestershire schools, Archery GB have
invited the County Sports Partnership and Gloucestershire Archery Society to become a lead County in the Campaign to make
archery a more prominent sport in schools. This will attract more funding and support for the county and for clubs playing
an active role. A meeting with all parties being involved has been planned for 21st June at Deer Park. Kate Moss (Archery
GB) will also attend one of the current after-school clubs being supported by deer Park Archers.

Schools Programmes
These are running daily in a number of schools under the Sport

and now the club has been offered significant reductions in our hire fees for the general club meetings. Thank you to Steph,
Dan and Roger for their efforts. Our junior members who attend the participating schools can also attend their after-school
clubs. Likewise those GNAS School club members can attend our DPA sessions.
